The old ladies of the village still get together to bake bread and rusks in traditional stone ovens, and sheep are still slaughtered for Easter in the traditional way. There are two coffee shops, which can only be described as somewhat ethnic, although you will always be made welcome. The village also has a working raki still, so it is well worth visiting in November when the raki is produced. Nofalias is a place where you can just totally relax. No one will try to make you join in or bother you, or you can get to know people if you wish. They are all genuinely friendly. It is very peaceful and a great place for a writer, an artist, or a trainee hermit
